Musonye says participation of outside countries boosts enthusiasm as Tusker cup fixtures revealed

The council of east and central Africa football Associations (CECAFA) has issued the fixtures of its Tusker challenge cup 2012 to be hosted at Namboole stadium in Kampala. Twelve countries including guest Malawi have already confirmed their participation in the Africa’s oldest regional event.

Earlier the CECAFA secretary General Nicholas Musonye told the media that Djibouti will miss the competition this year and in place of it the gust Malawi will take part in the competition.

Somalia war-devastated country who is suffering from one of the world’s most notorious civil wars and terrorism for the past two decades who accordion to CECAFA secretary General Nicholas Musonye never missed a single international, continental or regional competition became the first country to show up for the competition as the Ocean stars commenced their training sessions in Kampala last Saturday.

CECAFA secretary General Nicholas Musonye praised the participation of outside countries in the CECAFA tournaments. “The participation of countries outside the CECAFA region boosts football enthusiasm and even sweetens our tournaments “Secretary General Nicholas Musonye told the CECAFA Media.

The 12 participating countries are divided into three groups. The hosts Uganda are in Group A with Ethiopia, Kenya and South Sudan, while Somalia is in group B with Sudan, Tanzania and Burundi. As well Rwanda is in group C with guest Malawi, Zanzibar and Eritrea.
